While waiting for the next fights to be booked, former UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland and Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) standout “Platinum” Mike Perry sparred together at the Xtreme Couture gym in Las Vegas.
On Tuesday, Perry posted video of the sparring session to social media.

Strickland (29-7) last fought in February, losing to champion Dricus Du Plessis via unanimous decision in a rematch. Du Plessis captured the 185-pound championship by narrowly defeating Strickland at UFC 297 in January 2024. After picking up a win over Paulo Costa at UFC 302, Strickland earned a rematch with Du Plessis. The South African left no doubts, defeating Strickland in a one-sided decision.
Perry has had a remarkable career resurgence since leaving the UFC in 2021. He signed with BKFC and has become the face of the organization with an undefeated 5-0 record. He holds BKFC wins over Julian Lane, Michael “Venom” Page, Thiago Alvez, and former UFC champions Luke Rockhold and Eddie Alvarez.
Perry last fought inside the boxing ring last July. He faced influence-turned-boxer Jake Paul and was stopped via TKO in the sixth round. Paul was scheduled to face Mike Tyson on July 20, 2024 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas but a medical issue forced Tyson to push the bout back. Perry stepped in as a replacement and the event was moved to Tampa, Florida.
