San Diego, CA — Tuff-N-Uff made a high-octane debut outside of Las Vegas on Thursday night, bringing Tuff-N-Uff 144 to the Observatory North Park in San Diego. The action-packed event marked the promotion’s bold expansion, and it didn’t disappoint.
New Lightweight Champion Crowned
The main event featured a highly anticipated lightweight title clash between hard-hitting Cesar Abad (8-2) and versatile Mongolian standout Amarsanaa Tsogookhuu (11-3).
Abad came in with a reputation for aggressive striking, but Tsogookhuu quickly turned the tide with a barrage of precise kicks and body shots. Late in the first round, Tsogookhuu unleashed a relentless ground-and-pound assault, forcing a TKO stoppage to capture the lightweight belt.
With the gold draped over his waist, Tsogookhuu made a clear call to the UFC brass:
“Dana White, Sean Shelby, give me my contract. I want to get after it and I want to get this!”
Split Decision Drama in the Co-Main
The co-main event between former UFC vet Ashley Yoder and judo ace Natalie Kuziutina stirred some controversy. Kuziutina edged the first round with clean judo throws, but Yoder’s control and physicality made the final two rounds a close call. In a surprise split decision, Kuziutina walked away with the win, improving her record to 8-1.
Renato Canuto Impresses in MMA Debut
World-renowned BJJ champion Renato Canuto (1-0) made a dominant transition to MMA against seasoned wrestler Corey Stewart (0-4). Eschewing the ground game, Canuto punished Stewart with brutal knees and body shots before earning a first-round TKO.
“I’m always ready,” Canuto said post-fight. “I’m hoping to be back here as soon as possible.”
San Diego Legion Welcomes Tuff-N-Uff
